I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t interested in art--from pen and pencil drawings in early
grade school to learning to airbrush T-shirts at age ten to studying water color painting in my
teens. It wasn’t until a few years ago when I moved onto what we call The Farm in Pleasant
Garden that I fell in love with bluebirds. Being the third generation in a construction family, I
have always been involved in building, but my birdhouses allow me to be creative on a much
smaller scale. I’ve always had a huge interested in anything old and rusty, which I think carries
over well to the houses. I think it gives each its own unique look. No two houses are ever the
same. All of my houses are designed to receive a seal of approval from the North American
Bluebird Society.
